The Air Source Technologies AS-270-E-1 is an all-in-one heat pump water heater: the R290 refrigerant circuit condenses through a microchannel coil wrapped around the outside of a 270 L enamel-lined steel tank, so refrigerant never contacts the stored water directly. Rated heating capacity is 2.82 kW with a rated power input of 0.70 kW, giving a declared COP of 4.15 at A20/15degC ambient, W15-55degC water. The heat pump operates without its electric element across an ambient range of -7 to 43 degrees C.
A 1.8 kW electric element backs up the heat pump for faster recovery and extends the working range down to -15 degrees C. Rated outlet water temperature is 60 degrees C, with a maximum outlet temperature of 70 degrees C. The tank inner liner is enamel and is required to meet Australian Watermark certification.
The single-cabinet unit is a free-standing cylinder 620 mm in diameter and 1850 mm tall, net weight 118 kg, rated at 49 dBA.
