The Aquatherm Dynamic X8 is an integral heat pump water heater: the heat pump and 260 L storage tank are combined in a single outdoor cabinet, with the condenser coil wrapped around a vitreous enamel tank. It uses R290 (propane) refrigerant and delivers a rated heating capacity of 2.82 kW with a COP of 4.15, measured across a 40 degrees C water temperature rise at 19 degrees C ambient air. The compressor draws 700 to 900 W. Ambient operating range is -5 to 35 degrees C.
The unit is 620 mm in diameter and 1800 mm tall, weighs 118 kg, and includes a 1.8 kW electric backup element for boosted delivery up to 70 degrees C. Standard operation holds the tank at 60 degrees C for Legionella control (F11 setting), with the heat pump reheating once the average temperature drops 5 degrees C (F12 setting). The system is certified to AS 2712, AS 3498, AS 4020, AS 60335.2.40, AS/NZS 5125.1, and AS 4692, and carries a 6 year full parts and tank warranty on the current Gen 5 model.
