The Ariston ARIHPWH-280 is an integral heat pump water heater: the R290 heat pump sits atop a 280 L enamelled-steel storage tank in a single monobloc casing, standing 1867 mm tall on a 640 mm diameter body and weighing 114.8 kg empty. It heats water to a maximum of 60 degrees C on the heat pump alone, with a 1.2 kW electric element extending delivery to 70 degrees C.
R290 is a low-GWP hydrocarbon refrigerant (GWP of 3). The tank uses a titanium impressed-current anode plus a magnesium anode for corrosion protection, and connects via 3/4 inch (20 mm) hydraulic fittings. RCM certification (AS/NZS 60335.1, AS/NZS 60335.2.40), StandardMark (AS/NZS 4020, AS/NZS 4692) and WaterMark all apply.
The 280 L unit is registered under three model codes covering successive hardware revisions of the same tank size: ARIHPWH-280, ARIHPWH-280/2 and ARIHPWH-280/3. ARIHPWH-280/3 is the current VEU and ESS listed variant and the source of the weight and dimension figures above.
