Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone, medium household, calculated from the model's registered performance data.
The Bosch HP 270-1E 0 FOV/S is an all-in-one heat pump water heater: the compressor, fan, evaporator and 270 L tank share a single cabinet, so there is no separate outdoor unit. The manual lists this model as “Heat Pump Only Mode”: normal operation runs on the R134a refrigerant circuit alone, delivering 1.5 kW of heating for 0.6 kW input (COP 3.3 to EN255-3, water inlet 15 degrees C, air 15 degrees C).
The unit operates across an ambient range of 3 to 40 degrees C. A 1.8 kW electric element is fitted as a backup heater rather than for everyday boost duty, cutting in via a manual-reset thermal cut-out if tank temperature climbs too high, and outlet water temperature runs 60 to 65 degrees C. Net weight is 130 kg and sound pressure at 2 m is 43 dB(A).
This is an earlier generation of the Compress 3000 platform than the HP 270-2E 0 FOOV/S: it shares the same 270 L tank size, compressor (Highly WHP01900) and COP, but lacks the later model’s “Full mode” electric-assisted boost and its wider (-7 degrees C) cold-ambient operating range.
