The Carrier Blue IWH170L is an all-in-one integral heat pump water heater imported and distributed in New Zealand by AHI Carrier: a top-mounted compressor sits above a 170 L nominal vitreous-enamel tank in a single slimline cabinet, 568 mm diameter and 1580 mm tall, weighing 90 kg. The heat pump alone delivers 1.5 kW heating capacity, drawing up to 2780 W (12.1 A) maximum rated input including the 2.15 kW electric element, which lifts the maximum water temperature to 65 degrees C.
The unit produces 48 dB(A) noise and includes built-in frost protection for the condenser, a handy controller with temperature setting, timer and safety lock, and Carrier’s Smart Home app for remote control. It carries WaterMark and CE certification.
AHI Carrier NZ backs the residential unit with a 5 year warranty (additional/extended warranty terms are published separately on ahi-carrier.co.nz). A larger 300L split system is also sold under the Carrier Blue name - see the IWH280L entry.
