Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone, medium household, calculated from the model's registered performance data.
The Chromagen HP170 is an all-in-one heat pump water heater built by Midea for the Chromagen range: a single outdoor cabinet with a 170 L nominal (190 L physical) vitreous-enamel tank and an R134a refrigerant circuit that heats the water through a condenser coil wrapped around the outside of the tank. Model plate reads RSJ-15/190RDN3-E. The compressor-only Economy mode runs across an ambient range of 5 to 43 degrees C, extending to -20 to 43 degrees C in Hybrid or E-heater mode once the 2.15 kW electric element takes over.
Hot water delivery defaults to 63 degrees C and is adjustable from 38 to 70 degrees C, up to a 65 degree C maximum. Sound output is rated at 48 dBA. This is the R134a version of Chromagen’s 170 L unit, distinct from the R290 all-in-one sold directly under the Midea brand (MHP170F-E1).
The same physical product is registered under two model codes (registration-cycle variants); certificate values are the same across both.
