The Ecogenica EG-215FR is a split-system heat pump water heater: a 215 L glass-lined tank paired with a quick-connect outdoor heat pump unit on pre-charged one-shot R290 refrigerant couplings. Rather than a water loop, the refrigerant circuit itself passes through a heat jacket wrapped around the tank, so the unit heats the water directly rather than through an intermediate exchanger.
The heat pump delivers 3.15 kW of heating capacity from 0.63 kW input, a declared COP of 5.0 W/W at an outlet setting of 55 degrees C, and operates across an ambient range of -7 to 43 degrees C. R290 is a natural refrigerant with negligible global warming potential, and the FR range carries no electric backup element.
EG-215FRC is the commercial variant of the same physical unit (higher set temperature, single top sensor); Ecogenica’s warranty terms treat EG-215FR and EG-215FRC as one product line, with 7 years on the tank and 5 years on the compressor.
