The EcoSpring ECOS200 is an all-in-one heat pump water heater with a 210 L actual (200 L nominal) enamelled tank, marketed for a 1-2 person household. A microchannel heat exchanger wraps around the tank; the R290 heat pump (400 g charge) is rated at 2.78 kW heating capacity and 1.2 kW power input for a COP of 4.15 (dry bulb 20 degrees C / wet bulb 15 degrees C ambient, water heated 15 to 55 degrees C), recovering 60 L/hr, and produces 43 dB(A) at 1 m.
Without the electric element the heat pump operates from -7 to 43 degrees C ambient (-15 to 43 degrees C with the 1.8 kW resistance element engaged). Rated outlet temperature is 60 degrees C, maximum 75 degrees C. The unit measures 620 mm wide and 1510 mm tall (700 x 700 x 1655 mm packed), weighing 100 kg net (118 kg gross). The spec sheet states an STC rating of 31-32 in AU SRES zone 4, though EcoSpring is sold in New Zealand, which has no equivalent certificate scheme.
EcoSpring is distributed by Parex Industries Ltd (part of Whirlpool NZ) and controllable via the Smart Life app (temperature, modes, timers). Warranty is 5 years.
