The Ecotherm Dynamic-SS/X8 is an all-in-one heat pump water heater with a 260 L vitreous enamel tank. The heat pump module sits on top of the tank in a single cabinet, with a microchannel condenser coil wrapped around the tank rather than a separate water loop, and uses R290 refrigerant. The unit measures 620 mm diameter by 1800 mm high and weighs 118 kg empty.
The heat pump draws a rated 700 W and delivers a COP of 4.25, giving a tank recovery time of around 280 minutes. A 1.8 kW electric element provides dual-heating backup, taking hot water delivery up to 70 degrees C. The product is engineered by Aquatech Solar Technologies Pty Ltd and sold at retail in Australia under the Hydrotherm brand, while carrying a 6-year warranty covering parts, tank, and labour.
The model is certified to AS 2712:2007 (solar and heat pump design), AS 3498:2009 (legionella control), AS 60335.2.40 (electrical safety), AS 4020 (potable water quality), AS 5125 (heat pump performance test), and AS 4692 (tank heat loss test).
