The Ecotherm Rapid-SS/X4 is an all-in-one heat pump water heater with a 150 L, 304 grade stainless steel tank, sized to replace 125 L to 250 L electric storage systems. The compressor and evaporator sit above the tank in a single cabinet, with a condenser coil wrapped around the tank rather than a separate water loop. The unit measures 660 mm diameter by 1375 mm high and weighs 76 kg empty.
The Panasonic rotary compressor unit uses R417a refrigerant and delivers a rated heating capacity of 3.6 kW from a rated input power of 0.88 kW, on a 240 V single-phase, 4.0 A supply. Tank recovery is around 2.1 hours and delivered water reaches up to 60 degrees C. It is rated for operation across an ambient range of -5 to 45 degrees C and carries a 15-year pro-rata tank warranty plus a 5-year full-replacement parts warranty.
The product is engineered by Aquatech Solar Technologies Pty Ltd and sold at retail in Australia under the Hydrotherm brand.
