Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone, medium household, calculated from the model's registered performance data.
The Emerald Energy EE-HWS-A1-220E is an all-in-one heat pump water heater: a Hitachi-joint-venture DC inverter compressor, DC inverter fan, and microchannel heat exchanger are built into the same cabinet as the 220 L tank, with a 1.6 kW electric heating element fitted for Booster and E-Heater modes. Standard mode (heat pump only) delivers 2.8 kW at a 0.56 kW power input (COP 4.9); Booster mode (heat pump plus element) raises output to 5.2 kW at 2.4 kW input. Silent mode drops to 2.0 kW at 0.44 kW input (45 dB(A) at 1 m) for quieter running.
The enamelled inner tank (2.5 mm wall, 3.0 mm dome, concave design, two magnesium anodes) is rated to a default outlet of 60 degrees C and a maximum heat pump outlet of 70 degrees C. With the electric element fitted, the working ambient range extends to -15 to 43 degrees C. EE-HWS-A1-220E-1 and EE-HWS-A1-220E-2 are the same physical product listed for commercial installation.
The datasheet states a combined R290 charge of 400 g across the 220 L pair (EE-HWS-A1-220/220E) without itemising the split between variants.
