It runs on R290, a hydrocarbon refrigerant with a GWP below 0.02, and is rated to operate from -6 to 43 degrees C, with the 2.4 kW electric element only engaging outside that range or after 200 minutes of heat pump operation between -6 and 7 degrees C.
