Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone, medium household, calculated from the model's registered performance data.

The Hydrotherm Dynamic X8 is an integral heat pump water heater: a rotary compressor and micro-channel condenser combined with a 268 L vitreous-enamel tank in a single outdoor cabinet, 620 mm wide and 1810 mm high, weighing 118 kg. The unit uses R290 (propane) refrigerant and operates across an ambient range of -5 to 45 degrees C. Rated heating capacity is 3.6 kW at a rated power input of 0.88 kW, with an annual COP of 4.20 (ranging from 2.50 at 0 degrees C wet bulb up to 5.65 at 25 degrees C).

Standard mode heats to 60 degrees C, with Eco, Hybrid, Hybrid+ and Element modes available up to a 70 degrees C maximum tank temperature; a 1.8 kW electric element provides standby backup heating under fault conditions. Sound rating is 42 dB(A) at 1.65 m. Hydrotherm backs the Dynamic X8 with a 6-year full system replacement warranty.

Hydrotherm is a rebrand of the same platform manufactured by Aquatech Solar Technologies, so certified-standards and detailed performance figures above are drawn from Aquatech’s published DYNAMIC/X8 specification sheet as well as Hydrotherm’s own site. The register also lists Dynamic-SS/X8/C and Dynamic-SS/X8/OP variants; no separate public data confirms whether these use a stainless-steel tank or only differ in factory heating-mode presets, but the same heat pump platform and register performance are expected to apply.
