Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone, medium household, calculated from the model's registered performance data.
The Hydrotherm Rapid X6 is an integral, all-in-one heat pump water heater: a 210 L vitreous-enamel tank with a wrap-around condenser coil in a single outdoor cabinet, 620 mm in diameter and 1582 mm high, weighing 108 kg unfilled. It uses R290 (350 g charge) natural refrigerant, and the compressor draws 700 to 900 W. A 1.8 kW electric element provides backup heating.
Heating capacity is 2.65 kW with a heat pump COP of 4.25, tested at a 40 degrees C water temperature rise and 19 degrees C air temperature. Standard heat pump mode heats to 60 degrees C, with a 70 degrees C maximum available via the electric element; Eco, Standard, Hybrid and Hybrid+ modes are selectable. The unit runs on a 10 amp single-phase circuit and is sized to the same install footprint as a 250 L electric storage unit.
Hydrotherm is a rebrand of the Aquatech Solar Technologies platform, and the spec sheet used here is published under the Aquatech name; it states the range is certified to AS 2712, AS 3498, AS 4020, AS/NZS 5125.1, AS 4692 and AS 60335.2.40. The same document shows a 6-year warranty badge alongside body text describing a 5-year full system replacement warranty, so the exact term under Hydrotherm branding is not confirmed and is omitted here rather than guessed. The register also lists a lowercase “Rapid/X6” variant under ESS and VEU, the same physical product. The smaller Rapid-SS/X4 stainless-steel variants are a separate product and are not covered by this entry.
