Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone, medium household, calculated from the model's registered performance data.
The Power Bay Gen II PBG2-300RE-HYBRID is an integral, all-in-one heat pump water heater: the heat pump and a 300 L storage tank are built into a single freestanding unit, running on R290 refrigerant. It stands 2030 mm tall with a 650 mm diameter, and the tank is enamel-lined with a magnesium anode rod for corrosion protection.
The unit runs in ECO, HYBRID or STANDARD mode from the control panel, with a settable temperature range of 30 to 70 degC and a default setpoint of 55 degC. STANDARD mode is heat-pump-only and is the factory default; the electric heating element used in HYBRID mode ships disabled and requires a licensed electrician to hard-wire it to a dedicated 15A+ circuit before Power Bay will activate it. Heat pump ambient operating range is -7 to 43 degC per the manufacturer’s product page, extending to -20 degC once the electric element is engaged.
Weekly sterilisation runs automatically once accumulated run time exceeds 7 days, boosting the tank to 60 degC. Power supply is 220-240V~50Hz on a 25A circuit breaker with a 30mA/<0.1s RCD. No rated heating capacity, power input, or tested COP figure is published in the installation manual; Power Bay’s marketing states the Gen II delivers roughly 4 kW of heat per kW of electricity consumed, but this is not tied to a stated test condition.
