The Siddons Solarstream 326SMBD is a split-system heat pump water heater: an outdoor R417A heat pump unit connected by pre-charged refrigerant lines to a 326 L glass/enamel-lined storage tank, with the condenser coil wrapped around the outside of the tank rather than sitting inside it. The heat pump draws a maximum 1.38 kW electrical load and operates across the -5 to 45 degrees C ambient range, with a factory-default tank thermostat set point of 57 degrees C (adjustable 50 to 65 degrees C).
The 326SMBD shares its heat pump platform, controller and tank design with the 165, 261 and 417 litre models in the same range, and with the R290-charged 326SMCD variant of the same tank size. No electric backup element is fitted or required.
Warranty is 5 years on the storage tank, 4 years on the compressor, 2 years on other heat pump parts, and 1 year on labour.
