Certificate counts are computed from the model's registered performance data using the current regulated equations. A lodged claim depends on the specific installation, household size, and the scheme rules in force at creation. Energy savings % is against the AS/NZS 4234:2021 reference electric storage water heater for that zone and load size, calculated from the model's registered performance data, or taken directly from the register where it publishes a savings figure. VEU registers this data at the small load (the step-down load for a medium-rated system) and ESS at the medium load, so the two schemes' figures differ for the same zone.
The Optitech OPT-HP-S-265LT is a split-system heat pump water heater: an outdoor R410a heat pump unit paired with a 265 L storage tank, connected by a water circulation loop rather than refrigerant lines. The heat pump delivers 3.5 kW of heating capacity at an average input power of 0.81 kW (1.24 kW maximum), and operates across an ambient range of -8 to 40 degrees C. The manual does not state a COP figure.
Hot water delivery is adjustable from 35 to 55 degrees C, with no electric backup element noted in the manual. The tank stands 1780 mm high with a 570 mm diameter, and the outdoor heat pump unit weighs 43 kg. The system carries a 12-month parts-and-labour warranty and is installed to AS/NZS 3500.4.
Optitech International Pty Ltd has since ceased operations, and no manufacturer spec sheet is currently available beyond this manual. The smaller OPT-HP-S-160LT is also listed on the CER, DEECA/ESC and IPART registers under the same brand, but no manual or spec data could be located for it; it is not covered by this entry.
