Swimming pool heat pump calculators
A customer enters their pool and the tool sizes the heat pump it needs, then picks the unit in your range that meets it. Below is a working example on a brand-neutral product table. The sizing runs the AS 5352:2022 method on the pool's own climate, on our server.

What is doing the calculating
Most online pool calculators multiply the volume by a rule of thumb. This one runs a real heat balance, from an engine EnergyAE built and validated for pool work.
The published method
AS 5352:2022 Section 6: evaporation as a wind-driven function of the vapour pressure difference, long-wave radiation to the sky, convection to the air, less absorbed solar. A cover enters as a thermal resistance in series and a cut in evaporation. Capacity is Eq 6.19, heat-up time is Eq 6.20.
Validated, not asserted
The engine reproduces every cell of the reference pool heating workbook to thirteen decimal places, and its hourly companion model matches the standard's own published unheated pool temperatures to 0.62 K RMSE across four cities. The code behind this page is held to the engine by an automated test on every build.
It derates the unit
A pool heat pump makes less than its nameplate capacity as the air cools, and AS 5352 Clause 6.7 says to rate it for the minimum ambient it will see. Skipping that step is what undersizes shoulder-season installations. This tool applies it, and reports the fraction of nameplate it used.

Your real model table
Capacity and power at both AS 5352 Table 4.2 rating points for every model, plus modulation range and low-ambient cutout. The selector then returns your part numbers, and the capacity derating becomes a fit to each unit rather than a market-typical line.
The markets you actually sell into
Nine Australian cities are wired into this example because that is what the standard tabulates. Any market with TMY weather can be added, New Zealand included: the sky temperature the method needs is derivable from dew point and cloud cover, both of which a TMY file carries.
The hourly model where it matters
The monthly method holds the pool at setpoint on mean weather. On the same weather our time-marching model reads up to 19 % apart from it on annual energy, and the sign changes with climate. For a capacity claim or a running cost figure a customer will hold you to, that gap is worth closing.

Two inputs that move the answer
Air temperature is the first. A unit makes its nameplate capacity at its rating point, and less than that as the air cools, so the required nameplate is larger than the required duty by a factor the example reports on screen.
The season-start heat-up is the second. Bringing a pool up from its unheated temperature is frequently a larger duty than the steady daily load, and the example shows which of the two is governing in each case.
Pool pumps and other pool equipment
Pool heating is the calculation we have built and validated. Pool pumps carry a certificate value under the NSW schemes, and pool covers, sanitisers and controllers all have a running cost argument that can be calculated rather than asserted.
