Setup Tasks | Knowledge Base

Please complete the following tasks on your first day at EnergyAE. We use the Microsoft product ecosystem:

Sharepoint for file sharing
Outlook for email
MS Teams for internal communication.

Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

Open NDA folder in Sharepoint: Files / Administration / EnergyAE NZ / NDA.
Duplicate and sign “EnergyAE NZ Standard NDA.docx”
Create a folder with your full name as the folder name, and file the signed NDA in this folder.

Timesheets

Use Energy Modelling Overview to log your timesheet. Duplicate a tab and use your initials for the sheet name. Log your hours each day with brief notes about each project worked on. Log hours against the project code AExxx or if internal work, I-AE000 - assign to the correct project code in ‘Projects’ sheet.

Project Management - Monday.com

We use monday.com as our project management system. It helps to keep track of our consulting projects and see which tasks we have been assigned. Make an account on Monday and explore the project board.

Visit https://energyae2.sharepoint.com/ > Team Site > Document Centre to view project folders. You may need to request permission to gain access. Tasks:

Sync project folders to your Windows Explorer folders. Sync relevant project folders to your computer: e.g. AllProjects, Resources, Internal Projects, etc.
Go to EnergyAE Files > Resources > HP Modelling. Browse through these folders to see all the training documents.
Access your EnergyAE Microsoft 365 email account: either via SharePoint or download Microsoft Outlook and sync your EnergyAE email address.

Communication - Microsoft Teams

We use Teams for brief internal communication, and external meetings. Please set up Teams app on your computer and phone.

Software Installations

TRNSYS

We primarily use TRNSYS 15 for Australian HPWH modelling. TRNSYS 15 installation instructions: [[../06-trnsys/01-trnsys-installation/01-trnsys-15-installation]]. No need to install TRNSYS 18 unless otherwise specified.

KDiff3

Download & Install KDiff3. To use: right-click on a file, Kdiff3>Save. Right-click on another file, Kdiff3>Compare. This allows you to see differences between similar text-based files - especially useful for comparing TRNSYS .dck files to one another.
