2D Analyser Tool
How to use the 2D Analyser in the TRNSYS Tool.
The 2D Analyser sweeps two variables simultaneously, running all combinations to find the optimal pair. This is useful for weekly legionella control, where both setpoint (50–55°C) and deadband (3–7 K) can be optimized.
Steps
-
Verify heat pump capability: Check AS/NZS 5125 test data to confirm the HP can heat the bottom sensor (T6) above 60°C. Note the mid-tank sensor temperature (Tset_HP_w) when the bottom reaches 60°C — typically 61–64°C.
-
Open the “2D Analyser” sheet in the TRNSYS Tool.
-
Select the model from the dropdown.
-
Configure the analysis:
- Load size: Choose load 2 (medium) for better accuracy. If it passes load 2 in 2021, it should pass load 2 in 2008.
- Zones: Use zones 3–5 (or zone 5 only if time is limited)
- AS/NZS 4234 version: Select 2021 for current systems
-
Define the sweep ranges — e.g., setpoint 50–55°C vs. deadband 3–7 K.
-
Import and review results to identify the optimal setpoint/deadband combination.
