Annual Simulations
How to run annual simulations with TRNSYS Tool.
Pre-Simulation
Finalize all parameters and control settings before proceeding.
Configuration
Zone ranges:
- CER: zones 1–5
- VEU/ESS: zones 3–5
Load size:
- CER: load 2 only
- VEU/ESS: loads 1–2
AS/NZS 4234 version:
- SRES/CER: 2008
- VEU/ESS: 2021
Load Size and Version Matrix
| Load Size | AS/NZS 4234:2008 | AS/NZS 4234:2021 |
|---|---|---|
| Load 1 (small) | — | VEU 1D/3C* (zones 4–5) |
| Load 2 (medium) | SRES/CER (zones 1–5) | ESS D17/D19 (zones 3, 5) |
*VEU 1D/3C must meet 60% energy savings and minimum delivery temperature for load 2, but earns certificates based on load 1 results.
Run Simulations
Timestep: Use 0.02. Reduce to 0.01 or 0.005 only if convergence fails — check parameters first.
Model range: Verify that column numbers correspond to model numbers in row 5.
Click “Run” to start simulations.
Review Results
- Navigate to the “Res_Results” sheet when simulations complete.
- Click “Clear” then “Import” to populate results.
- Check that MDT ≥ 45.0 and energy savings ≥ 60.0% (for load 2).
MDT below 45? Reduce HP deadband (Tdb_HP) and re-run.
Energy savings note: Load 1 does not require 60% savings; load 2 does.
