1. Project Initiation
How EnergyAE starts a Large Commercial modelling project: PIC, client kickoff form, portal and signatory verification, scheme watch.
Every Large Commercial modelling project begins with a structured Project Initiation phase.
The objective is simple: when TRNSYS modelling begins, everything we need to know is confirmed in writing: brand, company name, address, model names, documentation, control settings, portal access & signatories… Also, additional scope items such as design optimisation studies that we can provide as value add-ons.
Skipping or rushing this phase is the single biggest source of project delay and rework in the large commercial portfolio.
Use the Email Templates for kickoff, portal access, and third-party routing emails during this phase.
For each commercial project, the project template folder structure includes the PIC and Client Kickoff Form in AExxx_Com_HP_Modelling\01-Admin. Use those project-specific copies for live project work.

- Client Kickoff Form — the document we send the client.
- Portal Access Setup — requesting, configuring, and verifying VEU and TESSA portal access at kickoff.
Gate condition
Modelling work does not begin until the PIC is 100% green and signed off by the director. If any item in Sections A–G of the PIC is incomplete or red, the project is held.
Once all checks pass, the project can begin: proceed to Phase 2 - Testing & Certification.
