Documentation Review

Follow these steps for checking documentation for HPWH and SWH modelling.

The first process is to review all of the documentation to make sure the drawings, test reports and other data are acceptable to start the modelling.

Checks for All Models

  1. Check tank drawing:
    1. System & tank model names match 2712.
    2. Shows heights of all tank positions (inlets/outlets/sensors/elements)
    3. Includes data table for all volumes and HX dimensions, tank wall thickness etc.
  2. Control settings
    1. Legionella control method: 45% daily to 60degC, or 90% weekly to 60degC?
    2. Residential or commercial: lower setpoint with high deadband for residential, or higher setpoint and low deadband for commercial?
  3. Model names
    1. Check consistency of tank and system model names throughout all the documents: test reports, certification, drawings, etc.
  4. Condenser Drawing (if not included in Tank Drawing)

Checks For HP < 10kW

Checks For Tanks < 700L

  • Check AS/NZS 4692 report: check tank model name, tank heat loss value (~2-2.5kWh/d).
  • Warranty card must adhere to VEU requirements

Checks for Separate HPs

  1. Check system schematic, ensure system & tank model names are consistent, english & understandable.
  2. Separate HP: check flow control
    1. For separate HP with water circulation, is it fixed or variable flow?
    2. Controlled flow or uncontrolled flow? See AS/NZS 4234 3.7.3, 3.7.4, H3.2.
