How to license TRNSYS software.
EnergyAE is a distributor for TRNSYS software. This guide is for creating a TRNSYS licence for a client who is purchasing the software from EnergyAE.
Pricing
TRNSYS 15 and 18 are sold together as a combined package. All prices are in NZD.

How to License TRNSYS V15 + V18 Package
TRNSYS 15 MUST be sold as a package with TRNSYS 18.
- Email techsupport@tess-inc.com and ask for TRNSYS 15 user.id file, provide Tech support with the contact person name and company name.
- Send the client the TRNSYS 15 Installation Instructions
- Refer to Pricing for pricing details.
How to License TRNSYS 18
Step 1: Create a user.id file
- Go to MakeID18 folder in Sharepoint and copy this to your C:\TRNSYS15\Include&weather\ folder
- Open Trnsys18Users.txt
- Add client to new row at bottom. Make sure to put a tab to separate the fields. Headings and consistent entries are in table below

- Run MakeID18.exe to create the new user18.id file
- Create a new folder for the new client, copy the file that looks like “user18-O0149.id” into the folder. Rename it “user18.id”. Send it to a zip file. This is ready to send to the client.
Step 2: Create a new license
- Log in to: https://olms3.cstb.fr/licence/LicenceList.action
- User: osborne
- Password: osborne4712
- Click “Ajouter”. It is a French site.
- Fill in details using table below

- Click Ajouter to add the license.
- Send the client installation instructions from Energy AE\Files - Guidelines\ TRNSYS Licensing\ folder according to the table below
