VEU Submission Process
How to submit an application to the VEU.

Residential heat pump activies:
- Activity 1D = HP replacing electric water heater
- Activity 3C = HP replacing a gas water heater
First, review the relevant VEU Application Guide.
How to submit a VEU application
- Log in to VEU portal
- Follow the relevant steps in the portal.
Note on Similar Products
Generally, submit each product in a separate application, unless the products are very similar.
- For example, to apply for 3 different HP capacities (190L, 250L, 300L), submit 3x applications with 1x HP per application
- If there are 3 different HP capacities, with a version with and without the electric element, making 6 models total, i.e. 190, 190E, 250, 250E, 300, 300E, submit 2x similar HP per application.
Fee waivers for similar models
If products have the same energy savings % and Bs values due to identical modelling, but slightly product differences (eg. inclusion of element that never turns on) make sure to add a note saying:
“Please apply Fee Waiver Category 2 to this VEU application.
All models in this application are identical aside from [differences] (see manufacturer’s declaration).
Therefore, all models have identical performance values and the same number of certificates since [differences] does not affect the AS/NZS 4234 modelling.”
All products in an application must be covered under one AS/NZS 2712 certificate.
