Review Results

How to review modelling results in the Com_Results sheet before proceeding to audit preparation.

Once the Find Loads algorithm has completed and the final CPL has been determined for each zone, review the results in the Com_Results sheet before doing anything else. This is the final check that the modelling meets the minimum scheme requirements.

Minimum Criteria

Both VEU Activity 44 and ESS IHEAB require the following for every zone:

CriterionMinimum requirement
Minimum Delivery Temperature (MDT)≥ 45.0°C
Annual Energy Savings≥ 60%

If either criterion is not met in any zone, the modelling cannot proceed to submission. Investigate the cause before continuing.

Common reasons for failing minimum criteria:

  • CPL is set too high — the system cannot maintain temperature under high load. Reduce CPL and re-run.
  • Control settings are too conservative (low setpoint or high deadband). Discuss with client whether settings can be adjusted.
  • HP performance data has been entered incorrectly — check the EN 14511 data in ComHPdata.
  • System configuration (number of HP/tank units) does not provide sufficient capacity.

Checking the Com_Results Sheet

Go through the following in the Com_Results sheet:

  1. MDT and Energy Savings — confirm both criteria are met for all three zones (Z3, Z4, Z5).
  2. Refrigerant charge — confirm this value is populated. If blank, add the refrigerant charge to the FAM_COM sheet (from the data plate or test report).
  3. VEEC and ESC quantities — review the certificate numbers. Do the values seem reasonable given the system size? Very high or very low values may indicate a data entry error.
  4. CPL per zone — confirm the CPL values in Com_Results match the values found by the Find Loads algorithm. The macro should have written these automatically, but it is worth a final spot check.
  5. LoadFactor (VEU) — confirm this is being applied correctly for the system. Under current VEU regulations, systems below 10kW average HP capacity or below the minimum storage threshold receive a reduced LoadFactor.

Exporting the Commercial Certificate Summary

Once results are verified:

  1. Click the Export Commercial Certificate Summary button in the Com_Results sheet.
  2. Save the summary spreadsheet to 02-Client_Material.
  3. Send the summary to the client for review and approval before proceeding to audit preparation. Use the Client Approval Email Template.

The client should confirm:

  • They are happy with the certificate quantities.
  • The modelled control settings match their intended product settings.
  • The system configuration matches what they plan to bring to market.

Do not proceed to audit file preparation until client confirmation is received. Changes to control settings or system parameters after audit files are prepared require re-modelling.

Once Gate A2 has passed and client approval is received, proceed to Phase 5 — Audit File Preparation.
