Installation Manual

Applications must include a copy of the product installation manual.

  • Check that the manual refers to the relevant model names as applied.
  • Look for the section describing “operation modes”, “legionella control” and “control settings”, and ensure this corresponds the how the product has been modelled in TRNSYS.

Warranty Requirements for tanks <700L

Warranty details are usually in manual. If warranty details are not in the manual, they must be provided separately e.g. warranty card.

Warranty requirements can be found in Table 3, Page 18 of the Water Heating and Space Heating and Cooling Product Application Guide.

Warranty cards must:

  • Include the contact details (name, business address, telephone number, email address (if any)) of who to contact regarding product warranty obligations in Australia in the event of a product failure
  • be written in English, using language that is easy to read and understand
  • Minimum Whole system (compressor + tank) warranty period of five years from the date of installation
    • Warranty period DOES NOT extend to labour or ancillary components/parts used as part of the installation of the product.
  • state who will bear expense of claiming the warranty
  • comply with the Australian Consumer Law (Victoria), including having to:
    • state what the consumer must do to claim the warranty

    • o state who will bear the expense of claiming the warranty

    • o include the following text which is to appear in a stand alone paragraph and not be altered in any way, appearing exactly as detailed below:

      Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
