Gate A Review

Peer review checklist for AS/NZS 4234 modelling before audit file preparation.

Gate A review occurs at the end of the Modelling phase, before proceeding to audit file preparation. A 100% pass rate is required to proceed.

Review Standards

Stop immediately if any check fails. Exception: minor/aesthetic issues that don’t affect the 4234 modelling (e.g., 5125 report formatting).

For each failure, clearly state the specific issue:

  • “Missing 5125 report from Client Material”
  • “FP value inconsistent between 4234 report and .dck files”
  • “Tank model ID not consistent with 4692 report”
  • “Tank drawing — volume above HP sensor is not > 45% of tank volume”

Checklist

1. Documentation

  • AS/NZS 5125.1 test report is present
  • AS/NZS 5125.1 raw 1-minute data is present
  • AS/NZS 4692 test report is present
  • Tank drawing is present and current
  • Condenser drawing is present (if applicable)

2. Model Identity

  • System, tank, and HP model IDs reconcile between test reports and tank drawings

3. Tank Drawing

  • Tank volumes and dimensions reconcile with 4234 Appendix TDS
  • Tank drawing meets EnergyAE requirements (see Document Review)

4. AS/NZS 4692 Report

  • Tank heat loss value reconciles with 4234 Appendix TDS
  • Test report number and date are correct

5. AS/NZS 5125.1 Report

  • Report meets all 5125 requirements
  • Test point periods comply with AS/NZS 5125.1
  • All temperature sensors reach ≥ 60°C
  • R² > 0.95 with scatter plots provided
  • Data review complete (see Document Review)

6. AS/NZS 5125.1 Data → Modelling

  • COP and Power coefficients in 4234 match 5125 report
  • Tifr (initial frosting temperature) matches 5125
  • Low temperature data correct
  • Standby power value matches 5125

7. AS/NZS 4234 Modelling Report

  • Report formatting and content are complete
  • Frosting penalty (FP) value is consistent
  • All data traced back to source material
  • Non-standard features are clearly explained

8. TRNSYS Modelling

  • Minimum delivery temperature (MDT) ≥ 45°C
  • Energy savings ≥ 60% (for load size 2)
  • Flow rate modelling is correct for separate/stand-alone systems
  • Legionella control strategy complies with AS/NZS 4234
  • Frosting penalty (FP) value is consistent between 4234 report and TRNSYS files

Gate A Pass

When all checks pass, proceed to Phase 5 — Audit File Preparation.
